Kampong Cricket is excited to welcome Netherlands captain Scott Edwards and vice-captain Max O’Dowd to the Kampong family! Joining them is the highly respected Corey Rutgers, coach of Cricket España and commentator for ECN, who will play a flexible and supporting role within the club.

Departing from VOC, where they left behind a great legacy, Edwards, O’Dowd, and Rutgers were drawn to Kampong Cricket by the welcoming atmosphere, excellent facilities, and the club’s potential.

Scott Edwards: “I am extremely excited to be joining Kampong Cricket this coming summer. From the outside, the club has always seemed like a family club that prides itself on being very friendly and hospitable. The club has some of the best facilities in the country and I look forward to contributing both on and off the field to helping the club grow and reach its goals and ambitions.”

Max O’Dowd: “I would firstly like to thank VOC for the past 6 years. An amazing club that has a special place in my heart. I’m extremely excited to get started with Kampong. After meeting at the club and discussing the goals and aspirations of the club, I was immediately interested in helping reach that vision. The facilities, the team, the location and the family atmosphere drew me to the club, and I can’t wait to get started on what will hopefully be a long and successful journey with Kampong.”

Corey Rutgers, with his coaching expertise at Cricket España, brings a wealth of knowledge to the club. His role will be flexible, allowing him to provide support where needed. His decision to join Kampong Cricket adds another layer of experience to the club.

Corey Rutgers: “Firstly, a big thank-you to Kampong Cricket for the warm welcome we’ve received over the last month. I’ve had the pleasure to see first-hand how well the club is run, and to become part of that growing Kampong family environment and a new challenge is something I look forward to. The club has big ambitions for the future which is very exciting to be able to help contribute to. I appreciate the club offering me a very flexible role while I pursue my coaching and commentary career and I’m excited to contribute in any possible way when in Holland.”

We are thrilled to have Scott, Max, and Corey join Kampong Cricket. Their experience and knowledge of the game will undoubtedly contribute to our ambitions to play at the highest level and the development of all our members.

Welcome to Kampong Cricket, Scott, Max, and Corey!
